After Taylor Swift was spotted hanging out with Ryan Reynolds and his Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy during a Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets game, there has been speculation that Swift has been cast in the superhero sequel.
Swift, 33, made the trip to New York to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs take on the New York Jets on October 1.
She was seen hanging out with Reynolds, his wife Blake Lively, Levy and another Deadpool 3 star, Hugh Jackman, at the game, which many fans thought was ‘confirmation’ that she was appearing in the sequel.
Still, while nothing has been made official about her casting, The Wrap caught up with Levy… who wouldn’t confirm nor deny the rumor.
He also cast some doubt on the film being able to hit its May 3, 2024 release date, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike since the film isn’t fully finished yet.

When asked about the rumors about Swift being cast as Dazzler, Levy would only say, ‘They sure are loud.’
‘I’m going across the board. “No comment” because that’s a double whammy,’ Levy insisted.
‘That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see,’ he said.
He was also asked about the plausibility of the long-awaited sequel – which will put Ryan Reynolds title character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the first time after the first two movies were made at 20th Century Fox before Disney acquired the studio.
The film was previously set for release on May 3, 2024, kicking off the summer movie season, though now the SAG-AFTRA actors strike has made it difficult to discern whether or not it could hit its release date.
‘I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3,’ Levy said.
‘Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk,’ Levy added.
‘We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year,’ Levy said.

While the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Directors Guild of America (DGA) have finalized deals with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), SAG-AFTRA has been on strike since mid-July, with no end in sight.
Dazzler has previously been played by Halston Sage in the 2019 X-Men film Dark Phoenix.

The character was born Alison Blaire, who learned as a teenager that she was a mutant with the ability to turn sound waves into beams of light and energy.
