Britney Spears shocked everyone with an Instagram post this Saturday in which she said she was one of the original Swifties.
As part of her Instagram post, Britney shared a picture from 2003 of herself backstage with Taylor Swift.
Britney was a famous star all over the world at that point, but Taylor was just a 14-year-old singer doing odd jobs.
Taylor didn’t become famous until three years later with her single “Tim McGraw.” This was the start of her career that has reportedly made her a billionaire.
British singer Britney Spears wrote in her new Instagram caption that 20 years ago, Taylor approached her through a third party and sang for her, which shocked the older singer.
“Way back when, but this is kind of cool…” “I got a knock at my door during my Oops Tour,” Britney wrote, setting the scene.
“At the time, my good friend was trying to become a manager himself and worked as my boss’s assistant,” she said.
He said, “I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.” I heard a knock. I said, “Of course!”
“He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song on her guitar,” she said. I thought, “Wow, she’s amazing!”
Britney smirked and said, “We took a picture, and she became the most famous pop star of our generation.” It’s cool that she plays in stadiums, and I always choose her videos over movies. She’s beautiful!!! I have a girl crush.
The famous picture of her and Taylor at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards was shown next to her story. The first picture was taken backstage in 2003.
At that point, Taylor was already very famous and had put out her first two studio albums, which had hits like “You Belong With Me.”
Taylor is in Buenos Aires right now as she continues her world-shaking Eras Tour. The tour has been a huge financial success and has helped her become a billionaire.
Also, Britney just put out a best-selling autobiography called The Woman In Me, in which she makes fun of her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and her family.
When Britney got out of the conservatorship in 2021, she was very angry and said her mother was the “mastermind” behind the plan.
Even though they don’t seem to be as close as they used to be, Britney still attacked Lynne in her memoir, saying that Lynne helped get rid of the dolls.
“I don’t know who told you I got rid of your dolls and paper, but I would never!” Lynne replied on Thursday on her Instagram page.
“That’s mean, because I know how much they mean to you.” I also feel close to them because we spent years gathering them. Yes, I still have your things and can send them to you if you want. Tell me, and know how much I love you!
On Saturday, Britney responded to her mother’s plea in an interesting way in a note added to the caption of her Taylor Swift post.
Note to mom: When I came home two years ago, there were three dolls in the cabinets. I love you so much. It’s weird that you would take them out and then put them back in… He wrote, “So messed up.” “No, I don’t want them.” Keep everything. “I really don’t care anymore,” she said.
